How locating a phone works

How does locating a phone number work?+

You enter the number, the person holding that phone receives an SMS asking to share their location, and once they consent their position appears on a map in your dashboard. Nothing is installed on either phone.

Is it always consent-based?+

Yes. A location is only ever returned after the recipient explicitly agrees by SMS. TraceHero is never covert, and you are responsible for having a lawful reason for each request.

Does it work on any phone or network?+

TraceHero is device-agnostic and works with both iPhone and Android across the major mobile networks in every country we cover. The phone needs to be on, in service, and the recipient must consent.
